Regulatory Alerts: Keep track of product requirements in foreign markets

A free website ‘ePing’ is now available providing businesses and governments with up to date information on regulations affecting export markets around the world. ePing allows users to search all World Trade Organization (WTO) notifications relating to product requirements and standards.

The website notifies users of non-tariff measures impacting Australian exporters, namely:

Searching alerts

  • Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures, which include import, inspection, certification, audit and testing requirements relating to food safety and
  • Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) measures, which include requirements such as labeling, registration, product composition, testing and quality assurance (beyond SPS).

Subscribing to alerts

The ECA recommends that all companies that are impacted by any of the above issues, should subscribe to ePing email alerts tailored to TBT and SPS measures relevant to their industry and markets.
